Week 10 & 11

As promised... I give everyone here the last diary of this litter!
The last weeks a lot has happened. We’ve been through a lot but the pups have also been through a lot. First of all a short update from all the pups that have already left us...
Sky is totally at home with his new family. He already has done a lot of things with them and also had a private and group lesson of his puppyclass. Sky is a cocky guy who does some pretty bad things but also listens very well. He has the time of his live with the kids in the family and is mosty worn out by the end of the day.
Snowy loves Senna the other sheltie at her home! Those two have been BFF’s since day 1 and do everything together. Snowy clearly is a feisty one and started puppyclass last week. She was the best in her class, an great student...
Kai’len drew a lot of attention to him at the vet’s office, a lot of ‘oh’s and ah’s‘ were heard. This little guy already has had a lot of adventures in and around the house and started already with puppyclass also (at the school were Cheeta’s owner also teaches).
And last but not least... BeeGee! He’s having a great time with the beagle Puk he’s living with. Puk still doesn’t know exactly what to think of BeeGee but BeeGee sure looks up to him. BeeGee also has already had 2 puppyclass lessons and is doing great. He is still a bit food obsessed so they are working on him with that now, he thinks everything is so yummy...
And then the twins. What did they do the last 2 weeks? Find out below in this puppydairy...

Till week 10

After BeeGee’s departure we wanted to do something fun Sunday to ease the loss. So we picked up my grandma and went to the park for a nice walk. Unfortunately it was a big mess there due to the snow so it wasn’t a very nice walk for us but the pups enjoyed themselves. They had a blast but eventually got cold so that was our sign to go home...

Monday it was time for the pups 2nd shot. And that day turned out to go not quite as we planned...
The shot itself and the examination went great. They didn’t feel a thing and walked out of the vet’s office with their tails in the air and their belly’s full with cookies. Until we got home... Long story short, we were in the hallway and I handled Mojo, my mom Abby and she gave Eevee to my grandma to all get their leashes off. I was busy with Mojo so didn’t exactly see what happened by apparently my grandma didn’t hold on to Eevee very tight so before I knew it she was on the floor screaming. We went back to the vet straight away and was checked out completely. Thankfully she didn’t respond to anything but that didn’t meant that it wasn’t serious. She needed to take a full week of rest and if it didn’t get any better we had to come back Wednesday for photos. She got some pain medication through a shot and slept almost the whole evening. But around 22 o clock she started to play again and become her old self again, the pain medication was clearly working.
We asked what to do about our first puppyclass the nest day and the vet said that if Eevee was up for it she could go but she had to take it slow...

The next day Eevee was back to her old self again so that evening we decided to go to puppyclass and just take it slow there. Me and Eevee and my mom with Mojo! The pups loved it... Eevee was pretty feisty from the start but crawled on her back immediately when the dog she was challenging got to close. Mojo played with a little doggy as well so had great fun. We learned ‘sit’ and ‘yes and no’ and by the end of the evening the ‘sit’ was already pretty much in their system. The ‘yes and no’ went well too but Eevee soon realized that no meant no treat so she ran of whenever she heard no. Mojo who loves ‘sit’ because he does that often was an little les cocky so learned everything a little better. But they both loved it and did so well! Unfortunately when we got home it was clear that they had done a bit too much as they went on and on with their busy behavior cause of all the impressions they got...

Friday Eevee was still just plain old Eevee so it looked to be nothing serious! We decided to go to the forest with one of my friends and the little ones there but that didn’t go as planned. That’s because it was like an ice-skating ring there! We couldn’t walk a meter from our car. So we decided to go back and go downtown with the little once so they did get a different walk than usual and also got a bit extra socialization. The pups had a great time and didn’t had e clue about what they were missing in the forest, they had a great time ‘shopping’ as well...

Till week 11

And then they were already 10 weeks old. Over 2 months ago we stood in that operation room and got them into our hand and look at them now, it sometimes still feels like yesterday...

That Saturday it was my grandma’s birthday so we went for a visit. There was also a Christmas market so we stopped by that first. The little ones weren’t allowed to walk this time because of all the crowd but still got to see a lot. We went to some stores, looked by all the market stalls, Christmas choirs and the barn full of animals. The pups almost gazed their eyes out! After that we went to grandma where mommy and ‘auntie’ Ash already were. Grandma had some toys for the pups so they felt at home right away! They had a nice play and loved it there. The rest of the day the slept probably dreaming about everything they saw...

Sunday was a nice day for Mojo! His owners stopped by and since they hadn’t seen him in real life for a couple of weeks he had already grown very much of course.
Mojo loved their visit and all the attention although he liked playing outside with his sister also very much. The tried to make a Christmas photo of Mojo and I must say it went pretty good! Mojo does ‘sit’ already very well so we practiced it a bit more for the Photo, with a Christmas scarf on of course hahaha...

Tuesday we went to puppyclass again! Since Eevee was all better she could finally fully participate as well and she sure did...
We got to learn ‘sit’ with a hand gesture, a tunnel exercise (which the pups loved because they knew that on already) another ‘yes and no’ and ‘lie down’. There also was a new doggy (a spaniel) which the pups played with for some time so by the end of the lesson it was clear they did more then enough that evening. The didn’t listen anymore, just walked off and were exhausted. En me too unfortunately. Something I really hated because I love puppyclass so to noticed that my body was giving up on me again during that class felt a bit like a smack in the face. But it’s something I have to accept and luckily the little ones were tired as well. The fell asleep right away in the car tired and full of new thing they saw and learned. Oh yeah and Mojo also got the compliment that he was so easy to train, good to know for his new owners!

Thursday, was our last day with Mojo (or so we thought)... We had a lot of plans, going to the forest for a walk and all sorts of great things. But unfortunately the weather was in our way again so we couldn’t go. So we made if comfy at home and bought some toys by the garden centre so the pups had something nice to do. Among other things we bought a Kong (a feeding toy). Mojo though it was interesting but didn’t got much chance to play with it, Eevee didn’t give it much of a look but Ashley... She went completely wild! The whole night she laid down with that thing, playing.... Oh she loved it so much, no one was allowed even close!

And then our last day was there... After all those weeks it was the day the last pup would leave us. After a bad night the morning didn’t start great either. I just wasn’t myself. Mojo had been 2 extra weeks with us, 2 weeks he had been part of our family. I think that’s what hurts me the most, it was like saying goodbye to one of your own dogs. And although I know it’s not goodbye but ‘see you later’ it did feel like that. Normally I’m not so emotional, I’m an emotional person but I try to keep my tears to myself. The first and last ones are always the hardest but I always try to stay strong. But this time... Oh what a terrible feeling!
That whole morning I cuddled Mojo and prepared for what was ahead. At noon we went for our ‘last’ walk with the dogs here and after that it was time. But then...
The terrible weather started! Everywhere in Holland but here the snow came falling down, roads were not drivable, kilometers of traffic jams started to appear and especially the middle of Holland was a though place to be. Before departure Mojo’s owners texted me that they were gonna give driving to here a try because they really wanted to come. I was a bit worried because of all the warnings and about after an hour in I got another test. It just wasn’t doable, they were driving 10km per hour and just couldn’t get here. I felt so sorry for them, I don’t even wanna imagine how they felt...  Mojo stayed here already that much longer then the rest so this was so unfair for them! It felt also double for me. Double because on one side I was so happy that Mojo stayed another night, but on the other side I had already been preparing for his departure and felt so sorry for his owners. But Mojo got to enjoy an extra special extra evening here with us with his mommy and sister by his side and he seemed to love it! He also watched some TV with us as he discovered that our just this evening, hahaha...

But eventually a day later then expected Mojo’s last day was then finally here. He ran through the backyard all morning playing in the snow but around noon his family finally showed up... Mojo went crazy when he saw them and after their visit on Sunday Abby also didn’t think of them anymore as ‘puppy stealers’. We sat and chatted for a while while Mojo played. But then that moment was there... After being so emotional on Friday I could handle it better today, it was hard but I could keep my tears in. My mom did break down a bit since Mojo was ‘here’ puppy. She did puppyclass with him, she held him when walking, he just was a bit here doggy and Eevee mine. It was very hard seeing Mojo walk out of that door in the arms of his new family but I know he will have it great there. It will take some getting used to the live here without Mojo but eventually we’ll find a new rhythm again and so will he. We want to wish Mojo and his new ‘parents’ the best of luck with Mojo! He’s going to live with a great couple where he will get lots of attention and also go on trips with since one of the parent’s live outside of Holland, so Mojo’s is going to have an exciting adventurous futue...

And now...

And now it suddenly very quite here. Although... Eevee does bring a lot of life into our home! Unfortunately our little girl isn’t doing great at the moment, she really seemed a bit shocked when she saw Mojo leave. And ever since then she has been a bit down and depressed. Abby is taking it well, she did howl a bit when Mojo left but quickly snapped into here normal routine. Eevee hasn’t had that moment yet, she’s gonna need some more time getting used to the life as an only pup here but I’m sure we’ll make it through!

This was the last diary of this litter, a diary that lasted 11 beautiful weeks. I’ve said it before I wouldn’t have wanna miss this for anything in the world, it was so wonderful to experience and also so great to see the pups all end up so well. Over about a week we’re going to visit the first one already again since it has been a month then already since their departure here.  I’m really looking forward to seeing them all again and traveling all to Holland to see them!
Eevee is gonna keep on going with the puppyclass and is also gonna be in the showring next year. How many times depends on how she likes it and does. We sure have lots of plans with our little girl and her mommy so next year we won’t sit still!
The reunion of both litters is also something that we plan on doing next year but how, when and where will be something for another time. We hope that all the pups will be there then so we have them all together at once.
For now this will be our last litter. I love breeding, the upbringing of the pups and raising them so I sure plan on continuing to breed. But Abby deserves some peace and quietness now as well. She has had 2 litters now so it’s time for a break. So we’re gonna enjoy the company of her, Eevee and the rest of the pets here! In a couple of years we’ll see how Abby is doing and if she’s fit enough then she’ll have another litter but that all depends on her health and being then. And if Eevee will ever have a litter... Only time will tell! Once she’s old enough and measures up to all the demand the NSV has for shelties to breed with maybe then but for now she’s just our little girl who we love and enjoy much. We’ll take the future as it comes!
I want to thank everyone for their interest in the puppy dairy’s all these weeks! Below some last pictures and videos and on the pups page and my Youtube page you can find more as usual. From now on all the new pictures of the pups will be placed in their personal albums which can be found here.
Well happy holidays everyone!
