Week 2

Another week gone, time really flies...
The pups are now 2 weeks old so they have started with the 2nd phase of their life. Last week they really were baby’s but this week they are beginning to walk (or are learning that to be exact) and their eyes and ears are starting to open. The cam has also been removed because of that so all the ‘runaways’ can be spotted, hihi. By the end of this week they will be playing with each other and walking through the whole puppy pen. So the real madness is about to begin! Abby is finally starting to become her old self again, she sometimes even plays with Ashley now when the pups are asleep.

But what a week! Monday began terrible with a broken heat system. Something you really don’t want with a couple of pups in your home! Besides that the system is almost brand new, we just got it a year ago. In the morning the repairman came and fixed it but around noon the system broke down again. Ever since then he’s been doing ok so hopefully it will stay that way. But because of that we didn’t get much sleep (or actually almost no sleep at all) that night (because of the noise the system was making and of course the fact that it broke down) so at the beginning of the week we were exhausted already, so not a great start!
But the pups were gaining weight good. So we decided to only feed them once a day starting Sunday. Unfortunately we immediately noticed that in their weight so we quickly decided to go back to 2 feedings a day. Despite Abby’s new found hunger she just still doesn’t have enough milk for such a big litter like this one, so we just gotta help her as much as we can. Tuesday all pups reached their milestone, they doubled their birth weight something that was actually supposed to have happened Saturday but because of the rough start they had it took a little longer.  But their doing great so nothing to worry about!
Yesterday a visit to the vet with Abby was also part of the agenda because here sutures were ready to be cut out. Everything looked ok (some sutures looked not a 100% but it wasn’t anything serious) and they all though Abby was so sweet (because some sutures were in very painful places so the poor girl experienced a lot of pain and didn’t make a sound she just kept her cool and was so nice)... And although Abby though it was a little scary at the vet’s office she was a very brave girl in there!
Today all the dogs here were dewormed, another new thing for the pups. And by the looks of it they didn’t like it at all, they all thought the pasta was so terrible! But hé it’s something that must be done so...

Curious Eevee Special Princess

Eevee had a busy week. She has had the most new impressions this week and also developed a very big attitude, hihi. Last Thursday on day 12 her eyes finally opened. And we sure notices that because there was a lot of screaming involved, hahaha. Probably because of all the new impressions she got from that. If she can also hear now we’re not sure about, sometimes we think she does and sometimes we think she can’t. But what we can say is that Eevee is the most far in her development in comparison to all the other pups, and she sure knows that. Since Thursday she decided because of that that her place now is outside of the basket instead of in like the others. Because well that more comfortable of course according to her, hihi! Mommy doesn’t like that very much as she now has to keep an eye on her and the other little ones in the basket of course. Walking is something Eevee does better also and she has already became good friends with her ‘auntie’ Ash...

Ambitious Phione Special Princess

Our little white miracle Phione... Madame became even whiter this week, really unbelievable! Ah well we came to the conclusion that her color is just indescribable. She looks like a double-merle but because that’s impossible she will just be our little white miracle for now. How she will develop within the month to come, how she will grow up, it’s all one big mystery for us all. But she is beautiful and a amazing being to see so that’s a fact! Phione had become more active since the end of the week although her eyes are not open yet. But she doesn’t let that stand in her way as she still escapes from the basket from time to time. She sometimes can be a bit of a dramaqueen so we’re very curious to see how that will go from here...

Lightning Raichu Special Princess

Raichu, our big though guy that he still is! Raichu is the biggest pup that we have in this litter but although he looks big he actually isn’t at all, he only weighs 50 grams more then Piplup the smallest pup from our 1st litter (so that means he still weighs a 100 grams less then the second smallest pup from that litter). So he actually still is a very little guy, just not in this litter. Raichu was very loud this week. Although I must say this litter is still really calm and relaxed, really calm and relaxed. But Raichu did make some noise this week... When something doesn’t go the way he whants it to go or he wants to drink well then we all know it! In other word he’s a bit of a nag, hihi. But that also makes him cute I think, because he’s just such a teddybear. Raichu and Eevee are the most far of all pups i fit comes to looks but his eyes and ears are not open yet. Since a couple of days Raichu has been going for ‘walks’ more often and he also was the first one our of this litter to understand the standing up part a bit...

Playful Phanpy Special Princess

Phanpy, the quiet one of the bunch. Although he can be a bit of a nag during feeding time, hihi... No but Phanpy comes over as a really easy and just lead back kinda guy. He loves to cuddle with his siblings but on his own he’s ok as well. He’s growing good, a bit too good this weekend hahaha (he gained so much weight in one day that the next day he didn’t gain any at all, go figure). So he’s doing fine! Phanpy’s eyes and ears are unfortunately also not open yet so we’re very curious to see when that will happen...

Prince Manaphy Special Princess

Manaphy, the little boy that became a little man this week! What I mean by that is that last week he was the little one with his brother Buneary, but this week he grew up a lot and Buneary well just not so much so he’s surely not the smallest one anymore. Manaphy also became a little bit looser this week. He tries to do more things and also makes more noise. Take earlier this week for example when he wanted his mommy with him, well we all heard that! But hé he’s a puppy so he can, he’s allowed hihi... Manaphy’s eyes and ears also aren’t open yet and he doesn’t seem to make a hurry fort hat either. So we’re very curious to see what this little fella will bring us in the near future...

Cute Buneary Special Princess

And then we have our little Buneary, still the midget of the bunch! He’s almost a 150 grams lighter than his big brother Raichu and with the second smallest pup he also has a weight difference of around 40 grams. A real small guy! But it doesn’t show, no this mister has a very big mind of his own! He just has a face that say’s ‘here I am’ and he acts that way too. Buneary does lie underneath the stack most of the time when they all seek warmth with each other so that actually contradicts the things that I say here. Hihi! Buneary looks like a very social man, he loves to cuddle with his siblings. He hasn’t been ‘sightseeing’ yet although his head lies out of the basket more often since the end of the week so I’m sure it won’t take long until he’s out. His eyes and ears aren’t open yet either but I don’t think that will take very long as well...

And that’s it, the puppy dairy’s for this week! Another week gone and lots of things happened... But they are doing so well all of them! They are growing nicely, they look so satisfied and mom is handling it all also just fine. So we have not much to complain about! We think the chaos will start next week as the eyes and ears are starting to open then and walking is gonna go also a lot better. So we’re preparing for what’s to come, because with 6 little ones it’s gonna be a house full of pets! But more about that next week.
This week I have some videos and groupshots from the man and women for everyone that would like to see that...

See you next week!
